Welcome to the Art Guild's Archives!

July 29 - Providence Hospital Exhibit Closes

Patients and staff have enjoyed our paintings, which have been rotated in and out, for many months, but it's time to move on to other venues.  If you have painting on display in the Providence Hospital Rehab area, they must be picked up Friday, July 29, between noon and 1 p.m.  Because there are far too many for Linda to haul home, there will be a charge for any paintings not picked up.  Please show up promptly at noon so that we can be out of the way of appointments beginning at one.

June 28 - July 30 - Carleen Bright Arboretum Show

Be sure to get out to the arboretum to see our "Sights Around Waco" show.  There are 32 paintings on display representing 17 artists.  One work from each artist appears below.  If you want to see any of them bigger, click on the image.  Better still, come see them all in person.  The arboretum is open 9-5 Monday through Friday and 10-2 Saturday.

July 7 - Carleen Bright Arboretum Show Reception

A good time was had by all while viewing the paintings and eating the goodies.  As usual, the exhibit was well hung by Karen O'Bric and her helpers.  A sampler of the painting appears above.

July 16 - Potluck Painting Critique and Planning Session

We had a wonderful time at the Potluck meeting hosted by Nancy Cagle.  After lots of good food and helpful comments about the paintings brought by members for critiquing, attention turned to future projects.  Many things were discussed, including a contest to design a new logo for the Art Guild.  Possible prizes include a gift certificate to Hobby Lobby or Michaels.  Ellen Foster is looking into getting a gift certificate from a local restaurant.  A suggestion was made to open the contest to the general public in hopes that it might help to recruit new members.  These ideas will be discussed at the August meeting.  Rose Larkie, Patrick Shade and Ellen Foster were picked to lead this project.  They will be responsible for narrowing submissions down to a few for the members to vote on.
