White Elephant, 1025 Austin Ave

The White Elephant sounds like something your cousin gave you last Christmas that you would like to give away. The gallery is not like that at all. It is filled with very nice original art. A couple of examples are show at the sides. Open First Friday and most days. Until Dec 23, open Mon-Thu 10-6, Fri 10-8, Sat 10-7, Sun 12-5. Hours will be reduced after that.

Kieran-Sistrunk Fine Art Gallery, 2120 Washington Ave

Open for First Fridays and show openings, available by request at other times. Text to 254-733-9478 or visit them on Facebook at  https://www.facebook.com/kieransistrunkfineart/.

Studio Gallery, 4712 Waco Drive, 254-770-0907.

Studio Gallery has a stable of featured artists, and others as well. It is open Tue-Fri 10-5, and Sat 10-3. It is also a framing shop, the longest lived in Waco, now celebrating its 50th anniversary. A few photos are below.

Farther afield, Fort Worth has several art museums, including three within walking distance of one another, namely

Amon Carter Museum of American Art, 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd (free)

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell Street

Dallas also has some good museums, but the traffic is worse.
