Mitchell solo show at 712 Austin Ave
was paralyzed by an injury 7 years ago, but has now mostly
recovered. She has turned to art to convey the experience of her
difficult rehabilitation. The exhibit will be open Monday,
October21, 4-7 at Cultivate 7twelve, 712 Austin Ave. There will be
an artist talk at 6. Liz with some of her art is at the left. More
of her art is at the right and below. Quite a story!

White Elephant sounds like something your cousin gave you last
Christmas that you would like to give away. The gallery is not like
that at all. It is filled with very nice original art. A couple of
examples are show at the sides. Open First Friday and most days.
Until Dec 23, open Mon-Thu 10-6, Fri 10-8, Sat 10-7, Sun 12-5. Hours
will be reduced after that.
Fine Art Gallery, 2120 Washington Ave
Hosts a new
artist each month in the front gallery, as well as maintaining the
display of the works of the two artists in the gallery name, and some
other ongoing displays of others in the back and side galleries. Open
for First Fridays and show openings, available by request at other

Studio Gallery has a stable
of featured artists, and others as well. It is open Tue-Fri 10-5, and
Sat 10-3. It is also a framing shop, the longest lived in Waco, now
celebrating its 50th anniversary. A few photos are below.

Currently reduced to a traveling trailer that moves about to various
locations, it is collecting funds to renovate a building on 8th street
as a permanent location.

art museums, including three within walking distance of one another,

Dallas also has some good museums, but
the traffic is worse.
